DESCRIPTION:One of our most loved events\, Future Mythologies\, returns to IndieFest 2025! Future Mythologies is a celebratory showcase for the new works in development that aspire to redefine the future of storytelling\, and become the myths of tomorrow. Through performance excerpts and facilitated discussions between artists and audiences\, this event unveils the captivating evolution of groundbreaking new works. \nThis year’s Future Mythologies is a collaboration with Chapel Sound and will feature musical artists exploring intersections of new sounds. \nTickets on sale OCT 22. \nWed\, November 26 | 7:30pm at the Annex\n823 Seymour St\, Vancouver\, BC V6B 3L4 \nDoors open at 7:00pm. \n\nGetting There:\n \nThe Annex is easily accessed by public transportation\, including the SkyTrain. Take the Expo Line to Granville station or the Canada Line to Vancouver City Centre. Walk east to Seymour street\, and then south towards Smithe Street. The Annex can also be accessed by many bus lines. Check the Translink website for schedules and routes. There is paid parking near the venue\, though note that it is limited. DESCRIPTION:re:Naissance presents Inferno\, a hip-hop opera by Omari Newton and Amy Lee Lavoie\, in an exclusive concert performance of its music and script. Blending hip-hop\, rap\, beat boxing\, sampling\, R&B\, and contemporary opera in celebration of IBPOC voices. The story reimagines Dante’s Inferno as a feminist\, anti-establishment\, and anti-colonial allegory. Hell is reimagined as a Spotify-esque headquarters in Vancouver\, BC\, with protagonists Vie (a music producer) and Mo (an artist turned janitor) who meet in the bathroom after Vie learns that their song has been stolen by The Company. \nGet 15% off with Early Bird Tickets until Oct 22. \nTwo Performances:\nFriday\, Nov 28 | 7:30PM\nSaturday\, Nov 29 | 7:30PM \nDoors open at 7:00PM. \n— \nGetting There: \nDigiBC Creative Tech Studio accessible by public transportation.
