New Opera, New Tech: Industry Pitch Sessions

In spite of the challenges of the past year, opera and the performing arts sectors are emerging stronger than ever with new ideas for engaging diverse audiences.
This session brings together leaders, artists and innovators from the tech and opera sectors to network and pitch bold new ideas for performances and co-productions.
This pitch session will include the five prototypes that emerge from re:Naissance Opera’s first ever Indie Opera Hackathon in which participants will be asked to present solutions to the challenge of “reimagining the medium of opera”.
This event is produced in collaboration with re:Naissance Opera, Vancouver Opera and The Association Of Opera In Canada (AOC) and is open to artist & company members of AOC, Indie Opera Hackathon Applicants and Participants, UBC Students, Staff & Faculty and invited guests.
