NOV 21 & 22 | ULTRA VIOLETS

IndieFest 2024 presents Alexandra Caprara’s ULTRA VIOLETS at the Annex. Two performance dates: Thurs, November 22 | 7:30pm Fri, November 23 | 7:30pm At Signals Studio at the Centre for Digital Media. Through a physical exploration of the ways queer club culture, plant growth cycles, and sapphic intimacy intersect, ULTRA VIOLETS subverts our expectations of what queer becoming looks like, and depicts this process as cause for celebration. Set within a world that is part greenhouse, part underground dance club, this dance- theatre piece draws on the history of disco and plant life to propose a new perspective on what it means to grow into oneself. Using integrated design, plenty of disco balls, and dirt, we offer a glimpse into this process and ask one question: do you want to dance?
